TRIP ITINERARY

NIGHT 1: Hanoi – Thon Tha

There are several buses that you can take from Hanoi to Ha Giang, either day bus or night bus. The bus does not include in the package but we can help to arrange. You’ll then check-in to your homestay in nearby Thon Tha Village and have dinner/breakfast with your hosts.

Please see more details in the YESD bus guidelines.

Day 1: THON THA - HA THANH - NA MAU- THON THA - 16km

You’ll start the day at about 8AM with a local breakfast and get to meet your local guide. The trek will then commence, heading through terraced rice fields and Tay villages, where you will meet and talk with locals. When you arrive at Na Mau village of the Coin Dao people you’ll have a picnic lunch (or if possible, join a Dao family for a meal). After a break, you will then trek to Ha Thanh village, famous for its waterfall. You’ll then finish this trekking loop back at the homestay in Thon Tha Village where you will again enjoy dinner with your hosts.

Day 2: Thon Tha - Khuoi Mi - LUNG VAI - THON THA - 16KM

This morning you can join the locals if you wish, helping them with their daily duties, like feeding the animals, cleaning the house, gardening or preparing breakfast. After breakfast, you’ll take a different route, trekking through the valley and then up the mountain linking Thon Tha and Khuoi My. Your local guide will tell you some local stories about the unique Dao Ao Dai culture. You’ll visit the Khuoi My village, located in the foot of the highest mountain in Northeast Vietnam. Here you’ll enjoy a picnic lunch en route, or again if possible, have lunch with a local family. After a short rest you’ll continue trekking and head back to Thon Tha village. If you like you can request a performance of a traditional culture show (Fee not included in tour).

After your last meal with your hosts, you’ll take the night bus back to Hanoi.

Itinerary subject to change or cancellation due to weather conditions.

<pIncluded: Ground transport, English-speaking guide, accommodation, activities & meals mentioned above. Not included: Airfares, visa fees, travel insurance, gratuities, personal expenses & all other services not clearly mentioned above.

“I simply can’t recommend this organization highly enough and am so grateful to Trang for all of the work and dedication she put into organizing this trip of a life time. Words cannot describe the beauty of Thon Tha village and the incredibly warm hospitality of our hosts at Mr. Thien’s home stay.” See more.
