Enjoy your free time having a walk around this beautiful village and enjoy dinner with the host family. The bungalow is a stilt thatched-roof house with soft bed(s), warm blankets, mosquito net, air conditioner, and en-suite bathroom.

DAY 1: THON THA - THAI AN - LUNG TAM - YEN MINH - MEO VAC - MA PI LENG - SKYPATH - DONG VAN TOWN - 175KM

Your tour guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Ha Giang to start your Ha Giang Jeep Tour at 8 am, hop on the open-air Jeep car and let’s begin our Ha Giang Jeep tour. Riding in an open-top jeep, you will be able to fully immerse yourself in the picturesque views and breathe the fresh air of Ha Giang. It’s also a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to take stunning photos and record your whole adventure along the loop of Ha Giang. First off, we will stop by Lung Tam linen cooperative in Flower H’mong village to see expert embroidery making. Lunch will be served en route.

Continue the Ha Giang Jeep tour to Ma Pi Leng Pass, known for its majestic scenery, and hailed as the “King” of the mountain passes in Northern Vietnam. From the open Jeep car, taking in and capturing breathtaking photographs of the surrounding mountains and the Nho Que River below. Hike along the Skypath on the Ma Pi Leng edge and walk to Flower’s H’Mong village to get an insight into the life of the locals here. The palace, blending European and Chinese styles, was home to a royal family of high rank during French colonial rule. Located in Sa Phin commune, Dong Van district, the palace offers a glimpse into the 19th-century Vuong family’s dominance, and the story of Vuong Duc Chinh – “King of the H’Mong”.

The next stop in your Ha Giang Jeep tour is Lao Xa, an ancient village known for its 200-year-old traditional houses of the Hoa and H’mong people. Interact with local families and learn about their way of life in this beautiful yet impoverished region, especially traditional silver-making techniques.

Continue your adventure by visiting Lung Khuy Cave, one of the newest caves, which has been explored since 2015 in Ha Giang. In January 2016, they opened this cave to visit in which there is an amazing view with thousands of twinkle stalagmites and stalactites inside. After having a short walk of 2km and vice versa, visitors can get there. Then, travel to Nam Dam village and overnight at a local bungalow there.

Ha Chiang loop for an old boy

Well what can I say about my Ha Chiang loop trip I did with Yesd. They were excellent from start to finish. As a 54 year old man I did the loop solo with my driver Chinh as I wanted to avoid the happy water and karaoke aspect. Chinh understood this perfectly and took me on a fabulous trip. We took local routes when he could, avoiding some of main routes. He kept ahead of the ‘Mongolian army’ as he called the throngs of other loopers and often arrived at view points before they arrived …

An authentic and sustainable experience

We spent 2 weeks in the North of Vietnam/ we are a family with 3 kids. As it was our first time in Vietnam, we had a lot of concerns. We contacted YESD through the mail, and had an immediate response. Our person of contact was Trang, who gave us her WhatsApp number and we had almost a daily “talk” while planning our trip. Trang took into consideration all our concerns and wishes. She has planned for us a beautiful trip in Ha Giang and Ninh Binh, with an extraordinary driver, English speaker and high educated.

A memory for life

An amazing experience! Incredible guides! You almost feel privileged compared to other groups. The accommodation is top-notch; the house, the welcome, the meals—everything is perfect. The mountain trek is magical, the motorbike trek is insane (beware of sore bums by the end!), incredible views the whole time, and super enriching stories. It really puts things into perspective compared to our European comforts—it feels great! To conclude this review, thank you again to the entire YESD Travel team; they are truly wonderful people.
