TRIP ITINERARY

Day 1: Ha Noi - Nguom Ngao cave - Nguom Ngao

Your Cao Bang discovery tour guide and driver will pick you up at 7:30 AM at your hotel lobby. Get in the car and we will start a long journey to Cao Bang province. Heading north to Trung Khanh district, right next to the Vietnam – China border, we will stop at Nguom Ngao cave to discover a 300 million-year-old cave nestled within an enchanting landscape. Spend the night at a local homestay in Nguom Ngao.

DAY 2: Ban Gioc waterfall - Phat Tich Pagoda - Ha Lang grass hills

After breakfast, continue your Cao Bang discovery with an exciting boat trip beside Ban Gioc Waterfall, one of the largest waterfalls in the world. Located amongst the sweeping landscapes of Trung Khanh, the breathtaking Ban Gioc Waterfall spans over 300 meters, straddling the border between Vietnam and China. Located in Dam Thuy Commune, Trung Khanh District, Phat Tich Truc Lam Ban Gioc Pagoda is the first pagoda ever built in this far northern province of Vietnam. Inaugurated on 15th December 2014, the pagoda was constructed on a total area of 3 hectares, leaning against Phia Nham Mountain, 500m from Ban Gioc Waterfall.
Your Cao Bang discovery journey continues with a visit to Ba Quang Grass Hill in the Ha Lan district. This breathtaking natural scene features carpets of grass shifting to a vibrant yellow, gradually blending into shades of orange like flames, creating a poetic beauty in the landscape. After this, return to your homestay in Nguom Ngao, and spend the second night in your Cao Bang discovery at the same homestay.

Day 3: Nguom Ngao - Phuc Sen forging village - Phia Thap incense village - Holy eye mountain - Cao bang city

Please be ready after breakfast to continue your Cao Bang discovery adventure. En route, stop and learn about the incense craft of the Nung ethnic minority people in Phia Thap Village. Their creative work today contributes to the preservation of a spiritual tradition that has persisted through several centuries of history.
Next in your Cao Bang discovery journey, you’ll become acquainted with the great history of Phuc Sen Village, it is renowned for its blacksmithing methods that reach back to the 10th and 11th centuries when villagers produced weapons for the soldiers of Nung Ton Phuc and Nung Tri Cao to fight against the Song army. Before heading to Cao Bang City, stop to visit Mat Than or Holy Angel Mountain, adds a mystical charm to your Cao Bang discovery. The native Tay people of the area call this mountain “Phja Pióť”, which roughly translates to “a mountain with a hole pierced through as if the wind blew from one side to the other”. Then, you’ll travel to Cao Bang City to rest and spend the night there.

“We spent 2 weeks in the North of Vietnam/ we are a family with 3 kids. As it was our first time in Vietnam, we had a lot of concerns. We contacted YESD through the mail and had an immediate response. Our person of contact was Trang, who gave us her WhatsApp number and we had almost a daily “talk” while planning our trip.Trang took into consideration all our concerns and wishes. She has planned for us a beautiful trip to Ha Giang and Ninh Binh, with an extraordinary driver, who is an English speaker and highly educated. The overall experience was amazing. Trang was available before and during our stay. All changes we have asked was immediately implemented. Zero complaints and many many compliments to this wonderful organisation. We highly recommend using their services!!!.” See more.
