TRIP ITINERARY

Capture the beauty of Hanoi through your lens with two tailored-made Hanoi photography tour routes:

  1. An early morning photography experience featuring Quang An Flower Market, Phuc Tan Market, Hoan Kiem Lake at sunrise, and Hanoi’s hidden alleys, capturing the city’s authentic daily life as it awakens.
  2. An photography journey exploring Hang Ma Street, Hanoi Train Street, Cho Gioi Market, Hanoi’s hidden alleys, and the historic Long Bien Bridge, perfectly timed to photograph the bridge in the warm light of sunset.

Option 1: Morning Hanoi Photography Tour (4:30 AM – 11:30 AM)

Early Morning:

Your photography guide will meet you at your hotel at 4:30 AM, allowing you to experience Hanoi as the city begins to wake. Our first stop is the vibrant Quang An Flower Market, where traders, florists, and local shoppers create a lively atmosphere filled with colourful flowers and authentic daily life. This is one of the city’s most rewarding locations for street and documentary photography.

As dawn breaks, we’ll head to Hoan Kiem Lake (Sword Lake) to capture the soft morning light reflecting across the water. You’ll photograph locals practicing tai chi, morning exercises, and the peaceful atmosphere surrounding Ngoc Son Temple, offering excellent opportunities for candid and cultural images.

Next, we’ll visit Phuc Tan Market, a traditional neighbourhood market where vendors sell fresh produce, meat, flowers, and household goods. The bustling market provides endless opportunities to photograph genuine local life, expressive portraits, and vibrant market scenes.

We’ll finish the tour by wandering through Hanoi’s charming small alleys, hidden away from the busy main streets. These narrow lanes reveal authentic neighbourhood life, colonial architecture, local cafés, bicycle repair shops, and everyday moments that make Hanoi unique.

Returning you to your hotel around 11:30 AM. End of the tour.

Option 2: Hang Ma street, Train street, Cho Gioi Market, Long Bien bridge

Your guide will meet you at your hotel before taking you to the colourful Hang Ma Street, famous for its vibrant decorations, lanterns, and traditional paper crafts. Throughout the year, the street offers fascinating scenes filled with colour, local shoppers, and unique cultural details.

We’ll continue to the famous Train Street, where you’ll capture one of Hanoi’s most iconic urban scenes. As trains pass through the narrow residential street, you’ll have opportunities to photograph the unique relationship between daily life and the railway while respecting all local safety regulations.

Next, we’ll explore Cho Gioi Market, Hanoi’s bustling mechanical and second-hand market. Here you’ll find an incredible mix of tools, vintage machinery, motorbike parts, and local traders, making it an ideal location for documentary and street photography.

From there, we’ll wander through Hanoi’s hidden small alleys, where everyday life unfolds away from the tourist crowds. These quiet streets offer authentic portraits, traditional homes, street vendors, and countless candid photography opportunities.

The last stop the historic Long Bien Bridge, arriving in time for sunset when the warm golden light beautifully illuminates the bridge, the Red River, and passing trains. This iconic landmark provides spectacular opportunities for landscape, architectural, and street photography before returning to your hotel around 7:30 PM. End of the tour.

The itinerary is subject to change or cancellation due to weather conditions. If a venue is closed, we’ll adjust the itinerary appropriately, visiting some other important Hanoi sites.
  • Included: Ground transport, English-speaking guide, activities & meals mentioned above.
  • Excluded: Airfares, visa fees, travel insurance, gratuities, personal expenses & all other services not clearly mentioned above.

Ha Chiang loop for an old boy

Well what can I say about my Ha Chiang loop trip I did with Yesd. They were excellent from start to finish. As a 54 year old man I did the loop solo with my driver Chinh as I wanted to avoid the happy water and karaoke aspect. Chinh understood this perfectly and took me on a fabulous trip. We took local routes when he could, avoiding some of main routes. He kept ahead of the ‘Mongolian army’ as he called the throngs of other loopers and often arrived at view points before they arrived …

It was a unique experience that allowed me to truly experience sustainable tourism. The activities took place in breathtaking landscapes and gave us the opportunity to learn firsthand about the traditions and lifestyle of the local communities. The team was very attentive and took care of every detail to ensure we enjoyed our stay to the fullest. A memory for life

An amazing experience! Incredible guides! You almost feel privileged compared to other groups. The accommodation is top-notch; the house, the welcome, the meals—everything is perfect. The mountain trek is magical, the motorbike trek is insane (beware of sore bums by the end!), incredible views the whole time, and super enriching stories. It really puts things into perspective compared to our European comforts—it feels great! To conclude this review, thank you again to the entire YESD Travel team; they are truly wonderful people.
