TRIP ITINERARY

See the beauty of Sapa in one day with two flexible routes:

  1. A longer village trek through Muong Hoa Valley, Lao Chai, Ta Van, Giang Ta Chai, and Su Pan
  2. A scenic sightseeing day to Fansipan Peak, Muong Hoa Valley, and Silver Waterfall before returning to Sapa town.

Day 1: Sapa – Muong Hoa Valley – Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan

Meet your guide at your Sapa hotel or meeting point around 8:30 AM and begin the trekking route into Muong Hoa Valley. Follow the valley route through terraced rice fields, mountain scenery, and village paths connected to Sapa’s ethnic communities. Along the way, explore Y Linh Ho Village while learning about local daily life, farming practices, and the mountain communities of the valley.

Continue to Lao Chai Village, a Black H’Mong community surrounded by rice terraces and riverside landscapes. From there, walk on to Ta Van Village, home to the Giay ethnic group. Visit a local home, meet villagers, and learn about their customs before enjoying a local lunch. Afterward, trek through a bamboo forest to reach Giang Ta Chai Waterfall, a peaceful place for photos and cool mountain air.

Visit Giang Ta Chai Village, home to the Red Zao minority, and learn about traditional clothing, herbal medicine, and daily customs. Continue toward Su Pan Village, another Black H’Mong community, with panoramic views of the valley and surrounding mountains. After the cultural trekking experience, get picked up and return to Sapa center around 5:00 PM.

Day 2: Sapa – Fansipan Peak – Muong Hoa Valley – Silver Waterfal

Start early with hotel pickup in Sapa and head straight to the Fansipan Cable Car Station for the journey toward Vietnam’s highest mountain. Ride the cable car toward the top area of Fansipan while taking in the mountain scenery of the Hoang Lien Son range.

Reach the top area by cable car, then hike the final steps or take the funicular railway to Fansipan Peak at 3,143 meters. Afterward, continue to Muong Hoa Valley, home to H’Mong, Dao, and Tay communities. Take a short walk, meet local people, and see traditional houses and peaceful countryside.

Stop for lunch at a local Sapa restaurant and enjoy Vietnamese food before continuing the afternoon sightseeing route. Visit Silver Waterfall, one of Sapa’s famous waterfall stops, and take a short walk to the viewpoint to enjoy the cool breeze and mountain scenery. After a full day of exploring, return to Sapa town.

Itinerary subject to change or cancellation due to weather conditions.

Included: Ground transport, English-speaking guide, accommodation, activities & meals mentioned above.

Not included: Airfares, visa fees, travel insurance, gratuities, personal expenses & all other services not clearly mentioned above.

Ha Chiang loop for an old boy

Well what can I say about my Ha Chiang loop trip I did with Yesd. They were excellent from start to finish. As a 54 year old man I did the loop solo with my driver Chinh as I wanted to avoid the happy water and karaoke aspect. Chinh understood this perfectly and took me on a fabulous trip. We took local routes when he could, avoiding some of main routes. He kept ahead of the ‘Mongolian army’ as he called the throngs of other loopers and often arrived at view points before they arrived …

    A memory for life

An amazing experience! Incredible guides! You almost feel privileged compared to other groups. The accommodation is top-notch; the house, the welcome, the meals—everything is perfect. The mountain trek is magical, the motorbike trek is insane (beware of sore bums by the end!), incredible views the whole time, and super enriching stories. It really puts things into perspective compared to our European comforts—it feels great! To conclude this review, thank you again to the entire YESD Travel team; they are truly wonderful people.

I'm Chi, a local guide in Sapa. I only finished my secondary school and learnt English from tourists while selling my mom's embroidery bracelets. I have worked as a guide for 10 years. Thanks to the job, I earnt some and saved a bit for my small family with two daughters. Many of the local youth could not afford to go to colleges, so tour guiding is our main job and an important source of our income. Thanks for travelling with YESD and choosing Sapa as your destination.
