The Community Development Project gives you the opportunity to lead a project with the assistance of YESD and the local community. We’ll work together to create, develop and put into action a community development project. The project may involve achieving a short or working towards a long term goal that future volunteers and community members will continue working on. This is a fantastic opportunity to improve your own skills and gain new experiences, while helping a disadvantage community and having the support of the YESD team.

PROJECT ITINERARY EXAMPLE

Day 1: Hanoi - Ha Giang

On arrival in Hanoi you’ll check into your hotel and have free time to explore the Old Quarter. At night you’ll have a traditional Vietnamese meal and YESD staff will join you to discuss the project.

Day 2: Hanoi - Ha Giang

In the morning you’ll take the Hanoi Scooter tour, visiting all the main tourist sites and also head out of the Old Quarter to travel around Tay Ho (West Lake). In the evening you’ll take the night bus to Ha Giang.

Day 3: Ha Giang

On arrival in Ha Giang you’ll be taken to your homestay and be introduced to your friendly hosts. They’ll treat you with a local breakfast and then give you a short tour of the village so you can use to your surroundings. In the afternoon you can rest, or help your hosts with their daily duties or visit the local school.

Day 4 - 5 - 6 : Ha Giang

Over the next two days you’ll work on planning and developing the project With input from the community and YESD’s assistance to make sure that together you will make a positive impact.

Day 7 & 8: Ha Giang

The next two days you’ll take a break, going on a an overnight trek or motorbike ride through Ha Giang. You’ll have a great opportunity to see some amazing scenery and visit some other villages in the area.

Day 9, 10, & 11: Ha Giang

On arrival back at your original homestay you’ll begin to action the project. Over the next three days You’ll work hands on with the community, developing your own leadership and teamwork skills while also helping the community.

Day 12: Ha Giang - Hanoi

After breakfast and saying goodbye to your hosts you’ll return to Hanoi by bus. On arrival you may like to continue travelling in Vietnam or travel home.

This is example of what a construction project itinerary may look like. We’ll organise a custom itinerary for your own project. Included: Ground transport, English-speaking guide, accommodation, activities & meals mentioned above. Not included: Airfares, visa fees, travel insurance, gratuities, personal expenses & all other services not clearly mentioned above.
